My Story
A Lifetime of Hands-On Experience
My name is Tracy Vail, and from a young age I knew I wanted to work with animals. That dream became my reality through years of hands‑on experience across wildlife, exotics, marine life, detection dogs, veterinary care, and shelters. I’ve had the privilege of working with species ranging from tigers and cougars to birds of prey, horses, cats, and dogs, and through it all I discovered a special bond with dogs that inspired me to focus on behavior and training.
Over time, I realized how profoundly a dog’s behavior can be shaped by clear communication and compassionate guidance. Today, I dedicate my work to helping families build harmony with their dogs and create lasting connections based on trust and respect.
For sixteen years, I served as Senior Humane Officer for the Humane Society of Ventura County, where I investigated thousands of abuse and neglect cases, educated owners on proper care, and rescued animals from unsafe environments. At the shelter, I dedicated myself to training dogs to improve their behavior and adoption success, while working closely with adopters to ensure lasting placements. I earned certification in dog training through Animal Behavior College, mentored with professional trainers, attended workshops on behavior, wellness, and nutrition, and volunteered with organizations such as the Search Dog Foundation.

How I Can Help
Empowering Dogs and their Families
My passion is strengthening the bond between dogs and people. I’ve handled thousands of dogs of all breeds and temperaments, and I know how body language, demeanor, and approach can transform behavior.
Whether it’s eliminating unwanted habits, teaching obedience, or guiding families through challenges, I am confident I can help create harmony in your home and build a lasting connection with your dog.
Every dog has the potential to thrive when given clear guidance and compassionate support. My goal is to empower both dogs and their families to enjoy a relationship built on trust, respect, and joy.
