Luna & Cory

One of my favorite things to do is to help in the process of finding people a new companion animal. It is important to match the right dog with the right person based on their schedules, activities, dog experience and how much time they will have to contribute to the dog.

I was happy to help Cory when she reached out for help in finding the right match. It wasn’t long before she adopted her new best friend Luna!

Cory has been dedicated to Luna from the moment she brought her home. The bond between Cory and Luna was almost instant.  Starting and continuing training sessions with me. Their friendly and engaging personality’s are a joy to be around.

Gracee the Tan “Potcake” pup and owner Denise Helm

Denise reaches out to me after her family adopted a “Potcake” puppy from a wonderful organization in the Caico’s Islands.

The organization takes in stray/ feral dogs that otherwise roam the streets and are often times subjected to abusive situations.

Generally when a puppy is exposed to this type of treatment at a young age it results in a fearful and under socialized puppy.

I could not be more proud of Denise. She was determined to make sure that Gracee’s past will not define her future. Through several trainings with me I had the pleasure of watching Gracee and Denise form a strong relationship.

First starting slow with neighborhood walks and eventually trips to the bookstore, pet store, and even the airport to board a plane!

Denise did a wonderful job of practicing everyday to build Gracee’s trust and confidence. Taking every opportunity as a chance to show Gracee something new.

Today I am happy to announce that Gracee enjoys playing with children, other dogs, and spending time with her family.

Chester's Story

Chester was adopted at Humane Society of Ventura County in Ojai. As you can imagine, Chester being a striking handsome Coonhound soon caught the eye of John and Lisa Adair. Shortly after bringing Chester home they noticed some signs of anxiety.

The Adair’s did not hesitate to seek professional help from myself, and other animal professionals. Through their hard work and dedication Chester started to make dramatic improvements. By practicing lots of leadership, and having patience Chester’s concerning behaviors started to decrease.

Wikipedia describes the Coonhound as Clever, Affectionate, Intelligent, Confident, Loving and Trainable. Chester matches up to every trait!

Together, Chester and the Adair’s are the perfect example of how a known hunting breed is given direction, guidance and love the perfect companion is discovered.

Karma and the Hooper Family

As a trainer, I always stress the importance of making a dog a part of the family. The Hooper family reached out to me after adopting their Shepherd mix Karma. The ultimate goal was to have a dog that could be apart of all their adventures as a family.

Through a series of trainings Karma started to dramatically improve on her leash skills, separation anxiety, and reactivity to other dogs. The Hooper family is the perfect example of what working together as a team can do for a dog.

All of their hard work and detication has paid off. Today, Karma enjoys walks with the family and other dogs, visiting with people in the neighborhood, and family vacations!
